Three Bergen autism schools hailed as best in NJ
As part of Autism Awareness Month, state Assemblywoman Joan Voss and other legislators will honor the schools at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Forum School, 107 Wyckoff Avenue.
New Jersey has the highest reported rate of autism, which some say is a result of intensified identification efforts over the past several years.
According to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in 94 children in New Jersey is affected by an autism spectrum disorder .
The same report found that 87,000 New Jerseyans are living with a form of autism.
