Johnstown woman publishes new children's book

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — "The Adventures of Hopalot" is a story about a bunny that lost his way in the woods and is trying to make his way back home. He meets a lot of creatures along the way but finds out that not everything is as it seems.

Author Kristin Boyers started this series after having a valve replacement. She felt the need to do something that mattered and hopes to inspire kids by sharing her traumatic past and showing them that positivity and healing can grow out of dark places.

"I’m trying to write about situations that most people don’t talk about," said Boyers. "Most people have the villains, I have no villains, there’s no reason for it, my books are not to scare children, they’re to help children.”

Kristin has two more books waiting to be published and hopes to gain community support in her writing.
