Man who escaped from Quehanna boot camp ran out of fire escape door

State police in Clearfield County have released new details about the investigation into the inmate escape at Quehanna boot camp.

According to the affidavit, 35-year-old Joshua Lackey reportedly fled from the facility, just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, by running out of the fire escape door.

Police say Lackey allegedly admitted to making arrangements with his girlfriend, the night before, to pick him up.

Troopers say Lackey told police that when he escaped and did not see his ride, he decided to flee into a nearby wooded area, where he was later taken into custody late Wednesday morning.

According to online court records, Lackey now faces charges of escape and criminal use of a communication device and is being held at the Clearfield County Jail without bail.

Authorities with the Quehanna boot camp have confirmed that 35-year-old Joshua Lackey has been found and taken into police custody.

Officials say Lackey escaped from the facility early Wednesday morning.

No further details have been released at this time about Lackey's escape.

Pennsylvania State Police are searching for an inmate who escaped from SCI Quehanna early Wednesday morning.

Troopers say Joshua Lackey, 35, of Tarentum, was last seen running into a wooded area near the jail and is still believed to be in that general vicinity.

Lackey is described as a white male, approximately 6' 2" tall, approximately 200 pounds with brown hair and a beard. Troopers say Lackey has three face tattoos, one between his eyes and the others at the bottom corner of each eye in blue ink.
