I-80 reopened near DuBois following hours-long closure due to fatal crash, weather

Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — According to PennDOT's 511 PA alert page, Interstate 80 eastbound, near the DuBois exit, has reopened after being closed for several hours due to a fatal crash and snow squalls in the area.
Clearfield County coroner Kim Shaffer-Snyder confirmed that her office was called to the scene of the multi-vehicle crash, which was first reported by PennDOT between 11:30 a.m. and noon Friday.
Authorities have not confirmed any further details about the crash and 911 officials say state police are investigating.

PennDOT reported earlier Friday that the eastbound lanes of the highway would be closed for several hours, and added that the impending winter weather could impact the length of the closure.
The National Weather Service is warning motorists of snow squalls in the area of Interstate 80, and a snow squall warning is in effect until 3:15 p.m.
Authorities have not confirmed how many vehicles were involved in the crash, nor if there are any other injuries reported.
Shaffer-Snyder says the identity of the crash victim is not being released at this time, as investigators are still working to notify the next-of-kin.
911 dispatchers did confirm that state police are handling the investigation.
