Officer kills suspect after being stabbed during struggle

BUTLER, Pa. (AP) — State police say a Pennsylvania police officer is in critical condition after being stabbed during a struggle with a man he then shot and killed.
Police say the officer in Butler responded early Tuesday to a report of a man "acting erratically and jumping in and out of oncoming traffic."
State police say the officer struggled with the man, was stabbed and fired his gun.
The 27-year-old officer has been reported in critical but stable condition at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
The deceased man has been identified as 35-year-old John Ebberts, of Butler.
State police and county prosecutors are investigating
