The country music star used her social media platform to let her fans know

Miranda Lambert had some difficult news on Thursday when she abruptly canceled her latest Las Vegas performance.

The singer took to her Instagram stories and revealed her doctor had given her instructions to rest. Her heartfelt message read: "Hey y'all. I have been under a doctor's care all day to see if things improved, however unfortunately I've been put on vocal rest and we have to cancel our shot tonight.

"To those fans who made plans to spend their Thursday night with us, I truly apologize. I am working hard to get better for the shows on Saturday and Sunday."

Miranda concluded: "See you all soon, and thank you for understanding." She then added details of how fans will be refunded for their tickets.

It'll be a blow for Miranda who is passionate about her Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas Residency. Fans who also saw the announcement on Twitter, commented: "Please get well soon," and, "this is so sad, but we understand. Get better soon."

Miranda recently shared some surprising news when she revealed she was preparing for a new "adventure" after deciding to part ways with her record label, Sony, after 20 years.

The announcement was made even more poignant as she shared it on the 18th anniversary of the release of her first album, . Sharing a collage of the stunning artwork for nine of her records, Miranda penned: "Since I was 19 years old, Sony has been my home in Nashville.

"Over the last 20 years Together we have released albums that allowed me to share my story with the world, and we've reached heights I'd never even dreamed were possible."

She continued: "I'm so thankful for our time together and everything they made possible for me, yet I wouldn't be true to myself if I wasn't constantly looking for the next challenge and a new way to stretch my creativity.

"With that in mind, I've decided to say goodbye to my Sony family. I can't wait to see what the next adventure holds."
