A massive fire engulfed a chicken farm in Texas and killed multiple animals, according to authorities.

The Bryan Fire Department shared images of the fire, which showed huge flames and a giant plume of smoke at Feather Crest Chicken Farm in Brazos County.

The Brazos County Sheriff's Office told The National Desk no injuries were reported, however, two buildings were damaged.

One building was housing chickens. They all perished in the fire," a member of the sheriff's office said Wednesday during a brief phone interview.

The National Desk contacted Feather Crest Farms CEO Sam Krouse to learn more about the fire and is awaiting a response.

The sheriff's office they received a call about the fire Monday around 5 p.m., adding that multiple fire departments remained at the scene Tuesday.

At that point, the fire was still burning. As of Wednesday, the sheriff's office said the fire was out, but authorities were treating hot spots.

KBTX noted that firefighters had to haul water to the scene from other areas, with neighbors saying they've noticed a drop in their water pressure.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, the sheriff's office said.
