Two killed in Friday's head-on crash in Altoona

BLAIR CO, Pa (WJAC) — According to a release from the Logan Township police department, both drivers involved in Friday afternoon's crash in Altoona have died from their injuries.

Police say the driver of a 2015 Subaru, identified as 79-year-old Jerry Sneath, crossed the center turn lane, along the 1600 block of East Pleasant Valley Blvd., and struck the second vehicle head-on.

The driver of the second vehicle has been identified as 78-year-old Thomas Gill.

Logan Township police are investigating a fatal head-on crash that occurred Friday afternoon, according to a report.

Police say the crash occurred along the 1600 block of East Pleasant Valley Blvd. in Altoona, around 1:20 p.m.

One driver suffered fatal injuries while the other driver sustained major injuries, the report adds.

The identities of those involved have not yet been released.
