Authorities battled a chemical fire Monday morning at the CONSOL Energy Plant in Washington County, Pennsylvania.

Officials say the fire started around 6:30 a.m. and multiple fire units were called to the scene.

As a result of the extreme heat from the fire, a part of the building collapsed at the Bailey Mining Production site.

Dark, black smoke could be seen from miles away and homes near the facility were evacuated as a precaution.

Fire officials say diesel and mining chemicals were burning.

Fortunately, all workers were accounted for, and no injuries reported.

It took fire crews about three hours to put out the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
